Trees get blurrier, roots become smaller, and your companions fade into the background when you're hammering on Specialized's Stumpjumper Comp Carbon 29er. It features a light, stiff FACT 9m carbon frame that goes up and down hills better than the best of them. For even more speed, you've got a trail-taming RockShox Reba RL 29 fork with 90mm of travel to smooth out race courses or all-day trails. Lightning-quick Roval wheels and slick-shifting 2 x 10-speed gearing with an XT Shadow Plus rear derailleur make up the drivetrain, while Magura supplies their sure-stopping MTS disc brakes for premium control. What's more, you get a spread of Specialized's components for full singletrack dominance.

Specialized's FACT (Functional Advanced Composite Technology) carbon frames and components are made from the finest materials and utilize a unique manufacturing process that creates amazing durability, awesome efficiency and super-low weight.

I really like this bike because it really holds its line and specially that I am joining high school racing. This bike is really fast in switch back or corners.

      Comments:

I use this for uphill and downhill mountain biking. The Reba shox actually make a huge difference from the lowest end Rock Shox. During the test ride, I knew I'd also have to upgrade the shifters from SLX to Shimano XT780 which was well worth it. The SLX shifters aren't nearly as smooth and crisp as the 780's are, plus these are interchangeable with 2x10 and 3x10 drive trains. Since I already had a better drive train, I put XTR 785 rear deraileur (still has clutch) with 785 chain and 770 cassette. With the same components as my GT Karakoram 29'er, the Specialized left it in the dust on downhill and up.
